In this first level course, join Ustadh Farid Dingle in learning some of the basics of the Arabic language and applying them to verses of the Holy Quran.
At-A-Glance
- Learn to identify noun sentences and how they vary.
- Learn the different grammatical states: singular, dual, plural.
- A Kiflayn designed Arabic text (adapted from Access to Quranic Arabic) shall be covered over the 4 levels.
About the Course
In this first level course, students will learn how noun sentences work using verses from the Quran and the Kiflayn Arabic text.
The course will cover how nouns can vary in a noun sentence; the different grammatical states for singular, dual, and plural nouns; adjectives and pronouns.
Students will learn about sound and broken plurals, prepositions, Inna sentences and the possessive case (al Idafa).

Lesson 3: Nouns, Pronouns, Adjectives, and the Indefinite
Lesson 4: Nouns, Adjectives, and the Definite
Lesson 5: Nouns, Adjectives, and Number
Lesson 6: Sound and Broken Plurals, and Separated Pronouns
Lesson 7: Attached pronouns
Lesson 8: Prepositions and the Genitive
Lesson 9: Inna Sentences
Lesson 10: The Possessive (al-Idafa)
Course Format
This course normally runs for ten weeks each term. This offering will be completed in 5 days.
There are pre-recorded lessons and these lessons are here to improve your Arabic reading and understanding. These lessons will provide you with the basics of the Arabic language and give you the skills to be able to apply them to the verses of the Holy Quran.
There will be one live session each week where students can interact with their teacher directly and ask any questions they may have based on the pre-recorded lesson and tasks given.
Weekly Time Commitment
Homework and quizzes will be given to students throughout the term and an end of course final exam will show the student how they have progressed throughout the term and whether the student may move up to the next level or not.
Course Requirements:
- Scanned course text will be provided
- Ability to take photo images of assignments and upload to course page
- Ability to make audio recordings and upload to course page
