FAQ:
Are you missing out on the reality of Ramadan?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “How many a fasting person will get nothing from his fast save hunger, and how many a stander in prayer will get nothing from his standing except sleeplessness.”
How can we change that? How can we make sure we don’t just waste these precious days merely doing the minimal, and not changing as an individual?
The answer lies in learning how the Prophet and the Early Muslims spent this month and what they did to absorb as much of its light as possible.
How shall I benefit from this course?
Imam Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali is a door into the spiritual and practical lives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Early Muslims.
This course gives us some snippets of how the Early Muslims viewed Ramadan, worship and existence in general. By taking this course you will learn the practical and spiritual steps to start to take on this luminescent world-view, and change as a Muslim and a worshipper of the Lord of the Worlds.
Who is Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali?
Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali was a Hanbali jurist, hadith specialist, Quran exegetist, and biographer. He has a commentary on Sahih al-Bukhari and a translated commentary on the Forty Hadith of Imam al-Nawawi: The Compendium of Knowledge and Wisdom.
Ibn Rajab combined in his works and character the spirit and knowledge of the Salaf Salih, the righteous early Muslims, along with the refinement and accuracy of the Islamic scholarly tradition.
He, along with the rare few like Imam al-Ghazali, was able to bring anew the old pristine sunna of the early generations, and present it to his readership in a beautiful, compelling, and yet academic and practical way.
