GroupTajweed Level 2: The Juz’ Amma Ijaza

Course Overview

Recite the last juz’ of the Quran through an unbroken chain of transmission from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Additionally, you can also choose to memorize the last juz’ by reciting in class from memory, and can also choose to enroll in the ijaza track to be able to transmit the final juz’ to others.

Students who choose to embark upon the ijaza track should note that ijaza is only issued at the teacher’s discretion – completing the recitation of the entire juz’ does not guarantee one shall receive an ijaza.

The course consists of a one hour lesson per week with a group of 4-6 students and the instructor. Students will need headphones and a microphone to recite into. You must pass the course in order to progress on to the next level. It is normal for students to take the same level multiple times before attaining a pass.

Students may like to join in a group setting for the comfortable atmosphere of learning together with members of the same gender. Students may find the cost of group-classes more conducive to their budget.

Syllabus

The entire 30th juz’. 

The course shall cover the following Tajweed rules, which students must be able to consistently apply in their recitation in order to pass course. The theory is covered through the course as practical points given by the instructor. The course structure entails recitation and correction until the student completes the Juz. The subscription of $25 per month is a minimum of 3 months commitment.
