Dua When Leaving Home

We relate from Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her) – whose given name was Hind – that whenever the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) left his house he used to say

In the name of Allah, I depend on Allah. O Allah, I seek your protection from going astray or leading others astray; from slipping or letting others slip; from being oppressed or oppressing others; and from acting ignorantly or others acting ignorantly towards me.

بِاسمِ اللهِ، تَوَكلتُ علَى اللهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أّعُوذُ بِكَ أَن أَضِلَّ أَو أُضَلَّ، أَو أَزِلَّ أَو أُزَلَّ، أَو أَظلِمَ أَو أُظلَمَ، أَو أجهَلَ أَو يُجهَلَ عَليَّ

Bismi-llah, tawwakkaltu ‘ala-llah, Allahumma inni a’udhu bika an adilla aw udalla, aw azilla aw uzulla, aw azilma aw uzlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala ‘alayy.
