Earth and Sky: The Prophet’s Miraculous Night Journey

After they year of sorrow, in which Sayyida Khadija and Abu Talib passed away, Allah gave the Prophet ﷺ ease by sending him on the Night Journey. During the Isra wa al-Mi’raj, Allah ordained that Muslims pray five times a day and taught him ﷺ the tashahud formula. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also met several other Prophets on this blessed journey and led them all in prayer.

The Isra wa al-Mi’raj was a test of faith, as many people found it difficult to believe that the Messenger travelled all the way to Jerusalem, ascended the heavens from al-Masjid al-Aqsa, and came back down to earth, all in a single night. Such a vast journey through earth and sky was unfathomable, except for those of true faith and unshakable trust in Allah’s Messenger.
