Dawrat Al-Khatt Al-‘Arabi is a pioneering online program led by the Iraqi calligrapher Mothanna Alobaidi, under the umbrella of Muṣṭafā Mount. This comprehensive course is designed to preserve and promote the rich heritage of Arabic calligraphy by combining historical knowledge, technical mastery, and artistic expression. The program provides a structured path for students at all levels to engage deeply with classical and contemporary calligraphic practice, culminating in professional development and public showcase opportunities.

2. Technical Study of Styles

Instruction in the structure, rules, and aesthetics of eight classical styles:

• Kufi
• Ruqʿah
• Diwani
• Jali Diwani
• Taʿliq (Nastaʿliq)
• Naskh
• Thuluth
• Jali Thuluth

3. Skill Development & Practice

• Stroke formation and pen handling
• Letter construction and ligatures
• Text layout, alignment, and spacing
• Weekly assignments and style-specific exercises

4. Composition & Artistic Production

• Designing original calligraphic compositions
• Framing, layout design, and traditional presentation methods
• Preparing artworks for exhibition
