Course Overview

We are delighted to announce a critically important course for boys aged 12-16 years. Taught by an experienced educator from the UK, the course is the first of an exciting two-part program for young Muslim men.

In an age that has subverted the role of the ideal man in society, this course aims to equip boys with the essential knowledge they require to make a healthy transition into manhood. It will practically explore a range of issues that confront boys today while candidly supplying them with the guidance to understand our purpose and religious responsibilities in life, as well as helping them to cultivate a personal relationship with Allah and His Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace).

Course Content Overview

• The physical and mental differences between a boy and a man
• The biological changes that take place at the onset of puberty
• Nocturnal emission and establishing manhood in Islam
• Becoming morally responsible and accountable before Allah
• Discharges (mani, madhi and wadi) and how to perform ghusl
• General cleanliness from the Prophetic sunna (body odour, hair removal, nails, istinja etc.)
• Signs of toxic friends and how to deal with peer pressure
• Rights of parents
• Desire (shahwa) and sexual attraction
• Pornography and addiction
• Dealing with girls
• Essential qualities of a man

About Mohsin Abbas

Mohsin Abbas has been a student of traditional Islam since 2004, having read scholarly texts with sheikhs in grammar, creed and jurisprudence. After graduating in the Social Sciences from the University of Birmingham, UK, and in Arabic from the Qasid Arabic Institute in Amman, Jordan, he has served as a teacher and curriculum developer in the private educational sector for fifteen years, mentoring and working with boys of all ages and backgrounds. He is the co-editor of an anthology of Arabic poetry, Nasim al-Wasl, and author of an unpublished collection of sira stories called Meadow of the Messenger.
