One-on-One Tajweed Level 3: Entire Quran Ijaza

وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ

And give good news (O Muhammad), to those who believe in this Book and do good deeds (in accordance with its teachings). [2:25]

Course Overview

Recite and memorize the entire Quran through an unbroken chain of transmission from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. You can choose to enroll in the ijaza track to be able to transmit the final entire Quran to others.

Students who choose to embark upon the ijaza track should note that ijaza is only issued at the teacher’s discretion – completing the recitation of the entire Quran does not guarantee one shall receive an ijaza.

You shall have two 25-minute private lessons with your instructor each week, and shall need headphones and a microphone to recite into. You must pass the course in order to progress on to the next level. It is normal for students to take the same level multiple times before attaining a pass.

Syllabus

The course shall begin with the recitation of the first juz’ of the Quran. Students shall progress on to receiving an Ijaza.

The course covers the recitation and optional memorization of the entire Quran with all of the tajweed rules learnt in the previous levels:

• The rules of fatha, damma, and kasra
• The rules of silent nun
• The rules of tanween
• The rules of silent meem
• The rules of madd
• Points of articulation of Arabic letters: throat, tongue, and lip letters
• Heavy and light letters
